Science

This science curriculum revision represents the work our cohort teachers completed this winter and spring. They worked hard to increase the rigor to meet the expectations of the Next Gen. Science Standards. You will see that they also included additional 4 level evidence suggestions as well as instructional notes when needed. They did some tagging to the Next Gen. Science Standards but that work is not complete so we plan to work with a group of teachers in the Fall of 2015 to complete that work. The result will be available in your local Empower sites in the winter of 2015, if requested. These additions will be available upon request, in the first three weeks of July. You must complete a request form for 3Shapes to push these additional curriculum documents to your local site.

As a final task, this group attempted to make recommendations for graduation requirements. You will see a * next to the “scope level” label at the top of the scales which they thought should be considered as “graduation required”. These are just guidelines and not meant to communicate that the cohort is providing local districts with their “essential” “graduation-required” targets.

Math (Additional high school level learning goals have been added to our current math curriculum. Those will be posted soon)

This math curriculum document includes the current MCCL Math Curriculum, plus additional measurement topics and scales (IN RED) built to represent the learning that typically happens in many advanced math and elective high school courses. Please keep in mind that a high school elective or advanced course will potentially address some current 3-level learning goals, some 4-level learning goals and some new scales or even measurement topics. This means that high school teachers must have a good understanding of what is in the entire math curriculum so they understand where certain expectations may already exist. These additions will be available upon request, in the first three weeks of July. You must complete a request form for 3Shapes to push these additional curriculum documents to your local site.

We are planning a full revision cycle for the math curriculum in the 15-16 school year.

These additions will be available upon request, in the first three weeks of July. You must complete a request form for 3Shapes to push these additional curriculum documents to your local site.

We are planning a full revision cycle for English Language Arts & Social Studies in the 15-16 school year.
